An Act for Alternative Energy
Purposes
The purposes of this Act are:
· to establish a program that will reduce the Great Petronia’s greenhouse gas emissions substantially enough between 2010 and 2050 to avert the catastrophic impacts of global climate change; and
· To accomplish that purpose while preserving robust growth in the Great Petronia economy and avoiding the imposition of hardship on Great Petronia’s citizens.
Section 1: Study and report on existing natural energy resources including wind, solar, waves and tides.
Definition. In order to get the most benefit of the alternative energy, we encourage the studies and reports. Therefore, we are willing to give financial support to universities and technology centers which study the advantages and disadvantages of alternative energy.
Section 2: Make geothermal energy more competitive with fossil fuels in generating electricity.
Definition. From an environmental standpoint, emissions of undesirable substances are small. It is also nearly sustainable because the heat extraction is small compared to the size of the heat reservoir. The Alternative energy Act authorizes $90 million annually for a five-year period from 2008 to 2012 to encourage the commercial use and development of geothermal energy.
Section 3: Authorize subsidies for wind, solar energy, and other alternative energy producers.
Definition. There are billions of dollars that the oil companies get in tax breaks over years and this act would roll it back and invest these taxpayer dollars to
improve the renewable energy and put it in energy efficiency.
Section 4: Encourage the use of biomass and biofuels.
Definition. Biofuels are a renewable energy source derived from organic matter such as agricultural crops and residues, forestry residues and forestry products, and by-products from some agricultural and industrial processes in some waste streams. Biofuels will help to reduce our reliance on imported fossil fuels by diversifying the transport fuel mix, some of which will be produced from local resources. That will increase the resilience of our transport system and economy to sudden disruptions in oil supply, as well as address longer-term concerns about the security of global oil supplies and about price uncertainty. Biofuels can also reduce harmful vehicle emissions such as those of carbon monoxide and particulates, creating positive impacts for air quality and human health.

Ecological Trade Bill
As climate change is a priority of every government in the world, action should be undertaken by reducing green house gases, which are the main reasons for this problem. We believe that this goal can be reached by establishing an ecological trade. This type of trade consists of:
Section 1: transportation
Transport is one of the biggest pollutants. To reduce the amount of CO2 emissions, certain restrictions should be put upon transportation.
Local products should be promoted in order to shorten distances, which will decrease the consumption of oil.
The use of storage should be optimized in order to limit the amount of waste.
Corporations should always choose the most ecological and safest way to transport their goods in order to decrease the use of fuel as much as possible.
<!–[if !supportLists]–>d) <!–[endif]–>Corporations must use the less polluting fuel for transport.
Section 2: Packing
To reduce the use of plastic and other polluting materials:
<!–[if !supportLists]–>a) <!–[endif]–>We promote the use of recycled and other environmental friendly materials that can be recycled after use.
<!–[if !supportLists]–>b) <!–[endif]–>Packages must be optimized to the minimum.

Our presidential candidate for parliament, Nicole Vournazos.
Nicole discussing issues with Nasser, the presidential candidate from MEAP.
As a member of ACP I want to express my opinion on the upcoming elections for the parliament leader. I think Nicole is the best candidate and has proved to be so through several speeches she has given, these include several to our group and also at our press conference. She has also shown great leadership as ACP’s party leader. I want to thank everyone for sharing this experience with me. I have learned how to organize my thoughts, analyze information, and make decisions with the knowledge i have received during my time in the BFTF program. I have met many amazing and unique people and I am thankful for this experience. My last statement is that I hope everyone sees that Nicole is the best woman for the job. Thanks!!

The Alliance for Climate Protection (ACP) presents an eco-social analysis and vision for our country. We feel we must maintain an ecological balance to develop our world. We support a sustainable community which utilizes resources in such a way that future generations will benefit and not suffer from the practices of our generation. To this end we must practice agriculture which replenishes the soil; move to an energy efficient economy; and live in ways that respect the integrity of natural systems. We possess a commitment to creating wise and enduring change in specific policies and values-based politics, as expressed in our two principles.
The two main principles of A.C.P. are to reduce climate change now and secure our climate for the future of Petronia.
Note that our actions and policies are motivated by long and short term goals.
We first seek to protect valuable natural resources, safely dispose of or “unmake” waste we create, while working to develop sustainable economics. Second, we look to assure our people that economic development, new technologies, and fiscal policies are responsible to future generations who will inherit the results of our actions.
The party recognizes that carbon dioxide emissions are one of many cause of climate change. We believe that our various human activities produce more carbon dioxide gas emissions. As a result, these carbon dioxide gasses get trapped in the earth’s atmosphere and place an added stress on earth’s climate. We will look to stabilize such a climate.
We believe that by reducing these emissions and working toward a fixed climate, we can make progress in the world we live in today. In Petronia we contend the following:
Transportation:
We encourage the oil, automotive, and automobile insurance industries to work toward fuel efficiency. We support creating additional public transportation for our citizens. Light rail should be established where possible and we encourage the expansion of bus rides, subways, and other forms of mass transport.
We offer tax break incentives for car buyers who want to buy hybrids and other fuel efficient vehicles and for automakers that research and develop fuel-efficient vehicles, as well as separate lanes for hybrid cars.
We want to make airports accessible by local transit systems and legislate further incremental reductions in airplane noise and air pollution. We call for incentives to get long-distance truck hauling off of our highways and on to railways.
We look to consolidate trade routes switching goods from one railroad to another, even when the trains are the same size and gauge, and this waste can be eliminated, creating a more efficient trade throughout the Petronia. This increases trade routes and offers our citizens a less expensive way to engage in the private sector.
We support clean production methods so that products are designed to be durable, repairable, reusable, recyclable, and energy-efficient, using non-toxic, sustainable-obtained materials, and nonpolluting production methods in use of shipping. We support consolidation to make trade more productive.
Biodegration:
We will encourage more efficient waste eradication by implementing a national program for convenient curbside recycling and establishing further disposal areas. Our belief is that the public has a right to know what toxic or potentially toxic chemicals are used and released.
Economy:
We support providing grants to corporations who work toward improving corporate efficiency. Examples include tax credits, renewable portfolio standards, research programs, loans and grants to corporations who produce products specifically designed for efficiency as well as promoting healthy corporate maxims.
We mandate a ceiling on the amount of waste corporations produce.
We would like to expand agriculture fields by researching and developing hydroponics and aeroponics and to increase Petronian commodities and trade. In agriculture fields, we would like to limit the use of harmful pesticides. To better increase our agricultural methods, we look to watershed planning to mitigate the impacts of urban development on our streams, rivers, and lakes and storm water management, soil erosion and sedimentation control, the establishment of vegetative buffers, and performance standards for development are appropriate measures in this area.
Population:
It is important to preserve wildlife habitat and to complete ecosystems so as to permit healthy, self-managing wildlife populations to exist in a natural state. We oppose any selling of our National Parks, the commercial privatizing of public lands, and cutbacks or exploitation in our national wilderness areas.
The impact of decreasing carbon dioxide emission creates a better environment for our citizens as well. This impacts our citizens because a sanitary environment means that we feel healthier, the area is not disease ridden (a responsibility that private sectors do not provide) and it promotes prime physical health. As such show that humans are more likely to reproduce and establish a secure, balanced population.
Energy:
We advocate strong energy policies at all levels of government to shift decisively away from polluting energy systems towards reduced energy use and clean energy sources. It is our highest importance to use wisely, and to have clean production of what is used. We advocate strong public policies to widely deploy conservation, efficiency, and clean renewable energy technologies. We propose that wind and hydro powers are use and support large-scale government purchases for research and development of hydropower and wind installation on government facilities.
Tax-exempt bonds should be authorized to finance some public ownership of alternative energy projects to allow publicly owned utilities to finance conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy projects..
We believe that all forms of different energy are important to research and utilize so we support research programs to harness geothermal, coal sequestrian processes wind, solar, and nuclear energy in most resourceful possible. The ACP party requires that inspections of nuclear waste occur.
Foreign Policy:
The ACP considers Petronian democracy to be an ongoing, unfolding project that is dynamic and creative in nature. We are committed to the strengthening of our civil society, including the many mediating institutions at the community level that have always characterized our government. We believe that promoting a stable political environment of all parties involved.
We hope to encourage and educate China about utilizing green methods in their economy and the promotion of efficiency of Chinese products. It is important to aid them in safe economic growth by providing programs and diplomats to work with Chinese corporations.
Our goal is to also diversify oil imports between China and Russia as well as focus on developing alternative energy at the same time.
